A Shop in Search of Its Purpose

Back in January I introduced my new store, Carissa May's North Star, and began moving all of the seamless paper from Persephone Grace Paper into its new home.
At the time, the plan seemed straightforward. Persephone Grace had grown into a collection of themed kits, stories, and immersive creative worlds, while North Star would become the place for seamless papers and standalone designs.
But as the move progressed, something unexpected happened.
Many of the seamless papers that had sold well within Persephone Grace didn't seem to have the same appeal when they were standing on their own. It made me stop and ask a question I hadn't really considered before:
What is Carissa May's North Star meant to be?
For a while, I thought the answer was "a paper shop." But the more I sat with the idea, the more I realized that wasn't quite right.
Persephone Grace Paper is built around story. Every kit begins with a theme, a world, or a narrative thread that invites you to step into a creative experience.
North Star feels different.
Rather than story, it keeps pulling me toward slower moments: reflection, gift making, seasonal traditions, small creative rituals, and projects that encourage us to spend a little more time with our hands and a little less time rushing to the next thing.
Over the next few months, I'll be exploring that idea further. You'll still see curated paper collections, but you'll also begin to see projects, printables, and creative tools designed around thoughtful making and meaningful moments.
And because I've realized that seamless papers still have a place within themed storytelling, you'll also start seeing them return to Persephone Grace Paper where they can continue to support the kits and worlds they were originally created for.
As always, thank you for joining me as these ideas evolve. Sometimes the most interesting discoveries happen when a plan doesn't work quite the way we expected.
